Greek yoghurt bowl
Yoghurt, oats, blueberries
- NOVA 1 Whole, minimally processed
- No additives
- Fibre, calcium and real fruit
Two meals can hit identical macros and be completely different food. Nudge Health gives every food you log a quality score out of 10, built from its processing level, additives and nutrient density, and puts it right next to the calories.
Free to start. No ads. No tracking in the app. Your data is never sold.
Every other tracker would call these two snacks identical. Your body wouldn't.

Shop-bought, wrapped
Identical numbers on a calorie counter. A 5.4-point difference on Nudge. (Illustrative example.)
No black box. Every score is built the same way, and you can see exactly how in the app. Or right here.
The scientific scale for how processed a food is, from whole foods (group 1) to ultra-processed (group 4).
50% of the base scoreProtein and fibre weighed against sugar, saturated fat, salt and energy, all per 100g so portion size never skews it.
50% of the base scoreAdditives are tiered by strength of evidence: high concern −0.8, moderate −0.4, low −0.15. Capped at −3.

Nutrition apps have a habit of overselling AI, burying the useful bits and quietly monetising your data. We made a list of everything that annoys people about them and did the opposite.
A food scores the same at 7am or 9pm, on a rest day or race day, whether you've macros left or not. No moving goalposts, no flattery.
Photo and chat logging are handy, and they're estimates. We say so on screen, and you confirm or correct every item before anything is saved.
Processing, nutrient density, additive tiers, the weights. All of it is on this page. Tap any food in the app to see its own breakdown.
No advertising SDKs, no ad identifier, no selling or sharing your data. You pay for the app, so you aren't the product.
Everything syncs to your account, stored in the EU. Switch or add an iPhone, sign in, and it's all there. An update will never wipe it.
Apple Health is read on your iPhone and never uploaded anywhere. You can delete your account and every log from inside the app, any time.

"Two eggs on sourdough and a flat white." We'll break it down; you check it over.
Hunting for the same food every day is what makes people give up tracking. Your recent and favourite foods sit right on the log screen, scores and all. Change the portion and the calories, macros and totals all update as you go.
Gentle prompts to log a meal, drink some water or take your supplements, at the times that suit you. Tap one and you land on exactly the right screen. Keep a streak going and we'll cheer you on.
Your yoghurt bowl still scores 8.6. Targets follow your training. Scores never do.
Connect Apple Health and Nudge reads one thing: the active energy you burned yesterday. Today's calorie and macro targets adjust to match, so a heavy training block gets fuelled properly and a rest day doesn't tip you over.
It's read on your iPhone and never leaves it. Whoop and Garmin support is planned.
The score, the ingredient breakdown and your reminders are free for everyone. Premium adds the long view.

Nudge Health is launching on iPhone first, and it's coming to the App Store soon. This page will have the download link the moment it's live.
No. A food's score is fixed to the food itself, calculated per 100g. It doesn't change with portion size, time of day, your activity or how many calories you have left. Portions change your calories and macros; they never change how good the food is.
Barcode and search results come from Open Food Facts, an open database of millions of products. If something's missing you can add it yourself in the app, and we review new entries before anyone else sees them.
They're estimates, and the app labels them that way. Before anything is saved you'll always see what was found and can correct it. For packaged food, barcode scanning and search are the most reliable ways to log.
Yes. Your logs live in your account, not on your phone. Sign in on any iPhone and everything is there, including after app updates.
No. Nudge Health provides general nutrition information. Scores and targets are estimates, so please speak to a healthcare professional before making significant changes to your diet.
Subscriptions are managed by Apple, so you can cancel any time in Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Our support page covers restoring purchases, refunds and account deletion.
Nudge Health is built around what real people find frustrating about food tracking. Spot a wrong score, want a feature, or just want to say hello? We read everything.
